After a retrospective overview of the journey so far, Kay C Jamison and Bruno Benevolo will look at how Ingalls Shipbuilding is meeting Navy demands through PLM and digital thread innovations, in collaboration with SSI. Key new initiatives include transitioning to a part-centric model for better engineering configuration management, expanding the digital thread for enhanced shipbuilding lifecycle communication, and increased adoption of model-based production deliverables to improve shop floor productivity for a new generation of workers. The presentation also underscores the importance of collaboration with the US Navy and industry partners to achieve these goals for the DDG(X) program.
