Sandia National Laboratory (SNL) is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center with a unique set of requirements, diverse portfolios, and customers with various missions. Historically, enterprise process approaches and tools have been difficult to implement and adopt.  The Science & Engineering (SEM) Group was organized to establish standard processes and solutions that enable mission success through strong collaborative partnerships with the mission’s customers.  This presentation will explore:

  • How the SNL systems engineering consulting work and IT partnership resulted in a standard tailorable solution that can support multiple projects and customers
  • How the systems engineering approach influenced how Sandia manages and organizes the capabilities that enable PLM, push the boundaries of typical PLM solutions and, our vision for our “Modern Digital Engineering Backbone”
  • Current capabilities, maturity model, and roadmap
  • Customer use cases to exemplify how Sandia proves out technology and releases to production
