Digital Engineering on Day One

In June of 2018 the US DoD published the Digital Engineering Strategy that detailed the need to change the state of the art and empower robust engineering practices in an integrated, model-based approach.  This was recently followed up by “DoD Instruction 5000.97 Digital Engineering” making DE a required capability.  Digital Engineering replaces document-based engineering with model-based techniques that digitally capture data and relationships across the development lifecycle.  This leads to a common, authoritative source of truth that engineers and program teams can access throughout the engineering lifecycle phases via an integrated digital thread

To bring the promise of Digital Engineering to life, the SAIC Engineering Innovation Factory recognized the need to change the way engineering processes and tools interacted.   This led to the creation ReadyOne made up of an automated, performance sensitive cloud ecosystem for servers, applications, and computing and a digital thread platform to integrate domains, tools and processes.  The result is an integrated, model-based environment to support SAIC programs and our DoD customers’ collaborative system development, acquisition, and sustainment needs.  ReadyOne delivers digital engineering with end-to-end digital thread, digital twins, and digital sustainment by federating best-in-class tools to provide the best possible capability to the end user.
