Engineering and PLM have been completely transformed by the forces of digital transformation. Industry 4.0 refers to the embrace of digital technology within manufacturing and engineering bringing our industry transformative technologies including Digital Twins, Digital Thread, AI and Advanced Analytics and Cloud Computing. Industry 5.0 will be defined by a focus on people-technology interactions, on sustainability, and on resiliency. As engineering organizations embrace 5.0 thinking (i.e. Engineering 5.0), these themes will become increasingly influential in defining how technology is applied to streamline collaboration, data flow, and decision making across the product lifecycle.
