Description
TCS SLM offering brings together our extensive experience in this domain, our proprietary process model and in-depth technical expertise to help organizations establish an efficient platform to orchestrate the Service Lifecycle.
Digital Thread: Digital Transformation has become mainstream today. In manufacturing organizations, one of the key drivers of this transformation is the ability to create a connected digital definition of the product’s lifecycle from requirements to retirement. Digital Thread is the framework which helps establish a connected view of the product & provides the ability to share product definition data across the various functions of the lifecycle. Digital Thread in conjunction with other digital technologies such as big data and IoT make it possible to connect and harness the abundance of data generated, consumed and referenced throughout the lifecycle. The unbroken data link that is created enables end-to-end traceability of product data. This makes it possible to establish a ‘Closed Loop’ product lifecycle where information gathered at downstream stages can be used as valuable insights to improve the product’s behavior. The ability to view product data in context across the lifecycle ensures intelligent, data-driven, decision making.
Model Based Enterprise, a platform for connecting enterprise applications, analytics driven business insights & closed loop feedback process form the 4 tenets of a fully functional Digital Thread.
TCS Digital Thread offering leverages the latest in Digital PLM technology and proven industry practices to provide organizations an accelerated approach to realizing the potential of their digital transformation initiatives.
TCS has developed a point of view on digital thread in Aras Innovator platform and Impressa. In combination to these , Analytics layer is developed which connects to various data elements and presents dashboard for deriving business insights.
SLM: After market services are a major revenue stream for most manufacturing organizations. In industries where products are in operation for long periods of time, keeping such assets in proper operational condition requires a strong service delivery value chain. Various service-related information are associated with such products and typically they are spread across various systems.
Traditionally the role of PLM systems was confined to managing engineering & manufacturing processes. However, today PLM provides capabilities to manage service lifecycle needs such as Service BOM, As-Built/As Maintained BOM, managing part movements, service planning, work-cards, obsolescence management, etc. These capabilities when coupled with those of a Service Execution platform such as ARAS Impressa, completes the entire stack required to address the Service Lifecycle Management needs of an organization. Service execution which includes Customer contracts, workorder management material planning and execution activities.
