Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, currently builds 4 classes of ships for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. The company recently completed another leg in their PLM journey—consuming multiple legacy systems’ data and artifacts from design and construction into a single toolset. The continuing challenge is finding ways to consolidate data, artifacts, and program specific functionality into a single platform for configuration management, while integrating all key business systems and tools.
