Dräger is a market leading mid-sized family-run company with a major product development focus. The company has activities across multiple industries, including hospital, fire services, oil/gas, mining and the chemical industry. The historically grown Dräger PLM system (introduced in 1992) could no longer support the entire product lifecycle and was expensive to maintain. This led to inefficiencies, due to the growing complexity of the Dräger product portfolio and an extensive effort for audits, or FDA regulated documentation of the development processes. Therefore, Dräger decided to implement a new PLM system globally and across all departments. The Aras Innovator platform was selected by Dräger due to the flexibility and usability. In combination with a fully AWS cloud implementation (including all XCAD authoring tools), Dräger can scale the PLM platform as needed and provide one global system for all employees.
